Moose!!!

I've received a few emails regarding the Moose, it is in fact a Moose, not Horse with a massive head, Conner. I thought for sure at one point I was going to have the next installment of "When Animals Attack". It seems a lady tripped and slightly startled the Moose, I could have been a witness. Luckily the Rangers stepped in, tourist and Moose went on their way, conflict avoided.

Termination Dust

The snow has started to fall in mountains around town, winter is near... UPDATE> Apparently winter is here. Snow, not the Canadian rapper, was reported at the airport today. It was brief but still. Snow, the Canadian rapper, was here last week for a concert at the Sullivan Center, sorry if there might have been any confusion.

"The Great One"

This past weekend I was invited to camp in Denali NP, although fearful of bear attack I took the chance. The colors are changing up here, well were, and the contrast between green, yellow, and purple was impressive inside Denali. Every year the park holds a lottery and allows people to drive their personal vehicles into the park for four days. My landlord was lucky enough to win and gracious enough to invite me along with his girlfriend and a buddy of his. The picture to the right was taken on our way home. We made a stop for breakfast at a

road side overlook, broke out the Coleman stove and this was our view. It was a rainy weekend so the pictures from within the park are lacking, at least compared to what I was seeing in person. One thing that really stood out was the sheer size of everything around me. At no point did we actually see Denali from within the park but a considerable amount peaks and hilltops were in sight. We constantly looked for wildlife and we caught the big four, Bear, Dall Sheep, Moose and Caribou. More often then not they were a small blur in the distance so my camera and binoculars came in handy. I was able to snap a few so here are the best of the best...Dall Sheep, Grizz in the bush, Bull Moose, and Caribou. Kinda blurry my apologizes.

Below and to the left are some more pics
from the trip. It's been a few days and I'm still coming to grips with the trip, it was definitely a great experience.

Actually this was the best picture of the weekend

The snow has hit the Chugach, it starting to get cold. Ill be in touch

First Post

Welcome!

For most of you I sent a link to check out photos so you know the details.

For those of you who have somehow stumbled upon this blog, let me fill you in. My name is Brent and I decided to take a new job and move to Anchorage, AK. I have a year long contract, it might get extended it might not, but at the very least I'm here in Alaska, for one year. I've been to Alaska before and it has always been a goal to come back and live. "So I got that going for me, which is nice."

I've had some friends start pages, so in a way, they have inspired me, C.T.A.W, THG, TDG, G,M&tM, not a person I know but I'd gladly be their friend...any way an awesome page EDSBS. So I figure I'll post every so often and toss up some pictures and we'll call it good.

So from now on family, friends and randoms, welcome. Hope I can put something together that is worth a few minutes out of your day every now and again.

Brent
